Counselling and Therapy for Relationships and Interpersonal Issues
Relationships permeate every aspect of life whether it be an intimate romantic partnership or relationships with family, friends and work colleagues. Yet how well do we function in relationships? Are you comfortable in your own skin? Able to speak out about your needs and wants? Do other people sometimes seem to treat you in a less than favourable way? Do you notice the same experiences happening over and over again with people whether it be rejection, jealousy, anger or insecurity? Do you sometimes behave in ways you know are not helpful yet find it difficult to stop?
Sometimes we learn our pattern of relating to others from the significant people in our childhoods and specific life experiences. These may have taught us that others cannot be trusted or in order to keep ourselves safe we need to keep a distance from others and not get too emotionally involved.
How therapy can help
Understanding why we behave the way we do in relationships is often the first step in deciding whether or not we would like change and learn more helpful ways of being and relating to others. Learning assertiveness skills, working on our self confidence and self image can also help in improving how we feel about ourselves and our relationships with others. As we start to change we may notice that others begin to treat us differently as well.

Testimonials
"I found my sessions with Wendy were the only private time to truly explore and reflect on my feelings. I've learnt so much about myself, how I function in relationships and am more self-aware and confident to tackle life's challenges".

"Wendy helped me understand why I always seemed to choose relationships that weren't good for me and by being more assertive and learning to like myself more I can now make different choices. A very good therapist".
