Birmingham & Bristol Therapy
Ethical Approach
I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and abide by their code of ethics and guidelines for good practise at all times.
I am fully accountable to my regulatory body for maintaining high standards of safe, ethical and competent practise. The BACP recommends that registered member status is the minimum standard individuals should seek when looking for a therapist.
In line with legal requirements I hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance for my counselling and psychotherapy work.
In line with BACP regulatory requirements I have supervision with an appropriately qualified and experienced clinical supervisor once a month.
This process of consultative support allows me the opportunity to discuss my workload, reflect on my therapeutic practise to ensure continued proficiency in meeting the standards of good practise, safeguard the interests of clients and to maintain ethical standards as set out in The BACP Ethical Framework (BACP, 2013).
The BACP register is accredited under a scheme set up by The Department of Health and is approved by The Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.
